Software

With the KJV’s 400th birthday, I think I’ll spend the next few posts discussing bible software and other technological helps to the study of God’s word.  As I finish each post, I’ll link it below for your easy perusal.

**Note** The ratings graph displays a maximum of 5 bibles for each category.  Five bibles means it is awesome in the catagory.  One bible means it is in need of serious improvement and is currently failing in this category.  No bible means the feature is not evaluated due to not being available in the product.  A sample of the bible rating graph is shown below.  This happens to be the marks for Accordance 9.5.1

  • Accordance
  • e-Sword
  • WORDsearch 8
  • Bible Explorer 4
  • Eloquent
  • Online Bible for Mac
  • BibleReader by Olivetree
  • You Version
  • Logos Bible Software for Mac Version 4
  • Quickverse Version 3 for Mac
  • Davar 3
  • PC Study Bible 5
  • Theophilos
  • SwordSearcher
  • The Word
  • BibleDatabase
  • Xiphos
  • The Sword Project
  • Glo Bible for Mac
  • Vyrso for iPhone
  • Bible Analyzer 4.4.3 Portable
  • Interlinear Scripture Analyzer 2.1.5 for Windows
My personal favorite for the longest time was e-Sword for Windows.  It seemed to have it all, being free, fast, an exorborant amount of modules developed by an active community.  Now that I have gone over to the Mac side, I find myself enjoying the pure power and speed of Accordance.  Over the next few weeks I’ll be reviewing all of the above plus other technologies such as the iPhone and the eReader.
Post was updated 12/09/2011 to add Accordance’s review.
Now converted to a Page for quick reference.
